‘WHY WAS I BORN A MAN TO SEE THE SUFFERING OF MEN I CANNOT RELIEVE’
A NOBLE SENTIMENT
St. Athanasius foundation whose founder members had for a long time watched in agony the plight of destitute children whose lot is to sleep on streets without a blanket and to share food with abandoned domestic animals and wild birds.
The members on the 18/March /2005 resolved to find ways and means of intervening in this children’s suffering, initially by gradual process of absorbing these children into a normal life by attracting them to a care center where they could be given the basic necessities of life and subsequently turn them into self-sustaining individuals.
OUR OBJECTIVES INCLUDE
1-To give the children a firm religious background that will mold them into responsible future citizens.
2-To establish a home that will initially accommodate about 203 children.
3-To give vocational training in selected skills.
4-To promote or help in promoting the protection of the rights of children.
5-To mobilize funds locally, nationally and internationally for the fulfillment of the foundation’s objectives.
MANAGEMENT OF THE FOUNDATION
In order to streamline the running of the activities of the foundation, the following management team was elected by the parishioners and mandated to devise ways and means of achieving the stated objectives within the shortest time possible.
